About our foodbank

We formed and joined the Trussell in 2012 becoming the 200th food bank in their network. To this day we are still proudly run by an incredible army of volunteers and we have two paid members of staff in our foodbank. Currently we operate three distribution centres across Gateshead run by volunteers and staff (see Locations tap for more info) and we run 7 sessions per week for individuals to visit us. The Warehouse is managed by our volunteers, food donations are received, sorted and transported to our distribution centres. We then give out emergency food parcels to those living in the Gateshead area, who have been referred into us. Our aim is to support with emergency food and help people to navigate away from returning to the food bank with practical signposting and support.
