About our foodbank
We formed and joined the Trussell in 2012 becoming the 200th food bank in their network.
To this day, we are proudly run by an incredible army of volunteers. We have three paid members of staff in our foodbank, and are an accredited Living Wage employer.
We operate three distribution centres across Gateshead run by volunteers and staff (see Locations tab for more info) and we run 7 sessions per week for individuals to visit us. The Warehouse is managed by our volunteers, food donations are received, sorted and transported to our distribution centres. We then give out emergency food parcels to those living in the Gateshead area, who have been referred into us. Our aim is to support with emergency food and help people to navigate away from returning to the food bank with practical signposting and support.
